Do you have crazy frizzy hair like I did? Do you wish you had smooth hair that you could either wear straight or make into nice rolling curls? If you answer yes to either of these questions then you need to get over the Atelier Salon now and schedule your Keratin Complex Smoothing Treatment. This treatment changed my life. It added easily 45 minutes to my day ---how? I no longer need to blow dry my hair forever and I no longer need to load on product to try to minimize my frizz. The treatment took away all the frizz from my hair. Its hard to believe but it did. I love my hair now! The staff was knowledgeable about the product and they made my time at the salon relaxing and easy.

I've had two cuts and one color here, all by Karie and her assistants. Karie is very professional, she is kind, and gentle in speech and gentle at hand. She is always educating her staff. I appreciate that.
Things I love about Atelier: beverage of choice while you wait; hand and arm massage before the cut (with essential oil of choice); scalp massage during shampoo; the music is not obnoxious; the stylists around are not obnoxoius in their communicating with their clients (one of my least favorite things in a salon is the gossip & inappropriate language you might hear from the stylists working next to you).; the yummy smells; the product,
Karie listened to what I wanted, she repeated it back to me and THEN she delivered! Love that. I love it even more now that I'm out and about. I have received compliment after compliment on my latest cut. Wow. I didn't even realize how fantastic it was! Thx Karie!!!

i have been going to anastasiya aka stassy for a while now and every time i leave her chair i feel simply amazing and beautiful about myself. As a hair dresser she is amazing and can practically do anything that i desire. Last night i went to her to cut my hair from an Aline bob to an a symmetric pixie. It was something i have been wanting to do for a long time and she finally gave me the little push i needed to do it. Not only did she do a fantastic cut and color, like always, but she made me feel amazing about having my hair short and i absolutely adore it. She has this crazy ability to read into who you are and what style you would like and hits the nail on the head every time. I would highly recommend anyone and everyone to take a trip to atelier and have stassy do your hair.

This review is for Lan, a senior level stylist. She is FABULOUS and knows how to give a FANTASTIC cut!
Because I have thick, long, wavy hair, I need a stylist who can give me a nice cut that flatters my face, take off the weight and boxy look of thick hair, without taking off too much length. Lan does EXACTLY what I want each time I go to her!
She asks questions before she begins, make sure she understands exactly what I want done, and periodically checks in to make sure I was doing great. When I ask to have an inch off, she really does take just an inch off. She listens and executes accordingly!
The massage during my hair shampoo was super relaxing, the cut and style didn't feel rushed and I loved the end results. I even still liked my hair even weeks after the cut!

So, I've had long hair (to the middle of my back) for as long as I can remember. It's my trademark! But I decided I needed a change and wanted to get it cut short. If you've ever cut off like 10 inches of your hair, you'd agree it's scary! But I'm so glad i chose Atelier for my transformation. I got it done by Natalia (an advanced artist) over at the Studio location. I love her! She did such a great job listening to me. I think it was pretty obvious how scared I was.. haha. It came out exactly how I pictured it and it's so cute! I got used to the change right away, which surprised me! I looooove it. I will definitely keep going back to Natalia for maintenance and slowly but surely maybe play with it a little. But for now, there's not a thing I would do to change it! Can't wait to go back and try some color too. Thank you so much Natalia! =)

5 star rating: With my wedding coming up next month, I have been working with Karie, the founder; and several staff members, including hair stylists Jessica and Anastasiya, for wedding day hair for myself, my mom, and the bridal party. It's been such a pleasure working with everyone at the salon. Karie has been especially committed to making sure the timing and the rates of the assigned stylists work for our schedule and budget. She has also been extremely patient, with all of my questions and requests.
Last week, I went for the trial hair styling session, with Jessica, and she was extremely professional and attentive to making sure my hair will look just right for the wedding and my preferences, based on photos that I brought with me. She did a terrific job, and when I arrived home, my fiance loved my hair, which was a huge bonus.
While Jessica was doing my hair, Karie came over to introduce herself, which I thought was especially sweet. It was great to meet her in person, after all of our phone conversations and email exchanges.
I really appreciate what a positive experience it has been working with Karie, Jessica, Anastasiya, and others at the salon. It is a very nice, professional, and talented staff.
I am confident that everything will go smoothly for my mom, bridal party, and myself on the day of the wedding, and we will all love our hair styles. For such an important event, that feeling of confidence is huge.

***As follow up to my terrific pre-wedding review, my wedding day experience at Atelier Aveda did not disappoint. The staff was friendly as always, and Jessica and Anastasiya rocked my matron of honor's, maid of honor's, mom's, and my hair styles. They did a fantastic job on each of us, and the terrific thing was that the styles, including beautiful long curls on typically stubborn stick-straight hair, stayed in place from the beginning of the day through to the last dance.---updated, 4/3/09
5 star rating: This is a fabulous upscale salon. When I went here, I felt like a queen. I got a scalp massage and a hand massage and felt like they really understand customer service. I went to Karie, who is the owner and senior stylist. She is fabulous. I have curly hair that I won't trust to most people to cut as they don't know how. If you have curly hair, go to Karie. She is the best. Anatasia gave me my shampoo and massage and she was great too.
I also love the Aveda products that they sell. They are made of natural ingredients and they smell so wonderful. The haircuts aren't cheap, but I (and I hope you) are worth it. Go and indulge yourself and feel like a queen. I did.

I have relocated from the East Bay into San Jose at the beginning of this year but still continued to commute back to the East Bay for pamper appointments like nails and hair. Until recently...
My hair stylist decided to break my heart and move away, far away.
So I decided to shop around and found this salon thanks to Yelp. I was able to call in on the number listed and find out about the Salon and their pricing. From there the phone receptionist set up an appointment with me for Jaimee the following week.
Jaimee was this adorable stylist who listened to what I wanted, gave input, and then worked her magic. It feels like a lot of the salons in San Jose want to be uber trendy and go for the funky asian crazy haircut. So when I asked for a blunt cut haircut with no frills I was a bit nervous. However, Jaimee rocked it... she didn't pressure me to add pink or spike up my crown like the other shops promote.
My hair looks awesome and I get compliments all the time. I am definitely going back as soon as my hair places difficult again and will also be going back with Jaimee!

True story-After my stylist of 15 years went blind, I scoured the neighbourhood for an affordable, yet talented stylist to take on my lifeless lockes. I was paired with Nancy and will stick to her, sight permitting, for as long as possible. She listens to my desires yet is inventive and creative. She is fairly priced ($55!!!!) and absolutely professional. I enjoy the massage, shampoo, light chit-chat and most of all, the results. I love to swing my new do around, bask in its glorious, light shape and temp the boys from Santana Row to Valley Faire. Kari, the owner, and I, have enjoyed years of pleasant comradery, as I too work in Santana Row, and trust her employees implicitly. Looking for something affordable yet unique, or to be pampered and dolled up like a lady who deserves a break, Atelier is the place!

Last week, I had my first appointment at Atelier Salon in Santana Row.
I was in the process of looking for a new stylist, and came upon the Aveda website, etc. I booked my appointment (for a much needed single color processing), and was "pleasantly surprised" by my entire experience. The salon was very nice (simple yet chic) - and extremely well laid out. There is a "zen-like" quality to the salon which only added to the positive experience. The stylist I was assigned (Jessica Fuqua) was extremely professional, caring, thoughtful, and a great Aveda Certified Colorist. She corrected the hideous hair color that my previous stylist (from a different salon in Campbell) had given me five weeks ago, and Jessica left me with exactly what I asked for (and hoped could be accomplished under the circumstances). One of the best surprises came when the actual hair color was applied directly to my hair - there was simply no "odor" or smell of any sort - this is one of the most positive points about the Aveda color products - and certainly one which I appreciate tremendously. I have to say, I went to my appointment simply "hoping for the best" and I came out feeling so very happy about my hair... It simply was a truly wonderful, relaxing and extremely pleasant hair experience. I was thrilled with the results and with my stylist, and I have already booked my next two appointments for the coming months with her. I believe I have found my new hair salon (and stylist) - and from now on, any time I have a hair appointment, I shall actually look forward to it! I highly recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for hair color experts who use excellent products...it's a great hair salon!

Karie Bennett can work miracles. I went to see Karie to fix a hair disaster. I had gotten the most awful haircut at another salon in Milpitas. They totally messed up my hair, cut off chunks all around and "feathered" in about a million of hideous "layers". The hair made me unhappy for weeks until one day I decided to seek professional help and Karie is definitely a PRO!!! She turned the awful mess on my head into a mini makeover. The new cut is easy to style, chic and looks like it will grow out nicely. I've gotten so many compliments on my hair since. Thank you, Karie! I would give you 10 stars if I could.

I was badly in need of help and direction...starting from scratch as it were. After growing my hair out for more than a year it was nerve-wracking to put my trust in ANYone to put scissors to it.
I am so happy I could cry. Not only was the experience of the salon amazing (easy and filled with incfedibly firendly people), but my hair cut and the makeup instruction I received from Karie Bennett will change my life. And the products are out of this world!
It's only hair and makeup, but when it's done right it means so much...

I have been looking for a salon that all the stylists are experienced and on the same level. I do know that their are senior stylists that have more experience, but they are all excellent. I have been going to Atelier for about 2 years and i would never think of going anywhere else. It is such a comfortable environment and everybody is so professional and attentive to your every need. I have not been going to anyone in particular because i dont need to. The reason for this is because i know that all the stylists will do an equally divine job.

Their friendly staff and warm environment makes changing your hair less regretful and stressful. I always thought Atelier was going to be crazy expensive because its on santana row! but their not I get highlights for 85 which isn't incredibly cheap but not crazy expensive. But I'd definitely recommend booking at least a month in advance they get booked really quickly.

They just opened a 2nd location in Santana Row (Atelier Studio) and I love it. It is a bit smaller, more personal and you can wait at a bar counter and watch the fashion channel on a flat screen plasma TV!

This place rocks! I have the best stylist in the world there and they have several great color technicians as well.
It's easy to park at this end of Santana row and I always stop in next door to get a pearl tea before my cut. It's a new tradition and I love it!
It is sometimes difficult to get an appointment or I would give it 5 stars.

Atelier Aveda is the best salon in terms of having staff who listen and provide excellent service. From the moment you call they are willing to solve your styling needs. At the salon I was greeted by a staff person who set me up with delicious herb tea. It was the best cut, and color that I have ever received. The color was to die for. I have never had a stylist do exactly what I had asked for in terms of amount to cut, and turn problems into beautiful hair. --on citysearch.com I always enjoy the time I spend in Atelier. I never have to worry about how my hair will turn out... I can completely relax and walk away feeling more confident and ready to face the coming weeks.

I had my hair and make-up done for my wedding and it was absolutely amazing. Everyone was so nice to work with and I really felt like a movie star when they were through with me! I can't tell you how many people complimented my hair and make-up. And it lasted all day and all night without any touch up. I would recommend for anyone to have their wedding hair and make-up done at this salon. It was a wonderful experience.

This isn't just a salon it is an experience. From the pre-cut scalp stress massage to the overall ambience, this place is fantastic.
